Special Education

In the earlier days, disabled people were often shunned land were not considered to be fit for public education. It was common for kids with disabilities to get their education from doctors and special tutors. Special education has attained its present form thanks to the efforts of physicians such as Seguin, Gallaudet, Itard and Howe. They had laid stress on individualized instructions as well as functional skills. Special education was initially imparted to students who had severe disabilities. However with the passage of time, its scope has widened and includes people who suffer from learning difficulties.
